On My Own Now Ministries, Inc. reaches young adults during their transition to independence with biblically-based multimedia, events and programs to encourage faith, wise life choices and Christ-likeness.
This site is a compendium of Bible-based perspectives on living a wise, Christ-like life in a very naughty world. We bring the Proverbs to life! Our target audience is young, Christian women ages 17 to 23. But if you’re a little older or a little younger, no biggie. In fact, everyone is welcome, but if sometimes you just don’t get it, check to see if it could be because you’re not a young, single Christian woman!
This site is “for attaining wisdom and discipline for understanding words of insight; for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair; for giving prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young – let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance – for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise.” Proverbs 1: 1-6
What makes us so wise? Er, uh, well, nothing. We’re just trying to help. Gosh!
Truth is, our founder Donna Lee Schillinger has really screwed up in life. She was a good little Christian girl all the way to college. Then when the rubber hit road and her Christian morals were put the test, all her tires went flat. She turned into a royal – ehem. (You can fill in the blank however you like. Probably whatever you’re thinking is accurate.)
She basically led a completely hedonistic life (well, there were those two years in the Peace Corps and nine others of social work) until she got pregnant (not married!) at age 30. That slowed her down, but it took a tragedy to turn her around. If you’re really that curious, download the free e-book Dear Hunter: A Journal to My Stillborn Baby.
When she found her way back to God of her youth, she kind of all-of-the-sudden got a career. She had great jobs before (still does, really, she’s the editor-in-chief of award-winning Hearing Health magazine), but she is crazy-excited about being a publisher of Christian nonfiction. Her first book, Walking Man: A Modern Missions Experience in Latin America by Narciso Zamora with afterword by Michael Cassidy (also available in Spanish as Caminante con Dios: El Trabajo Misionero en América Latina) won the 2008 Indie Book Award for Religious Nonfiction. In April 2009, she published her own first book, On My Own Now: Straight Talk from the Proverbs for Young Christian Women who Want to Remain Pure, Debt-free and Regret-free, coming on April 1, 2009. Visit Donna’s business Web site, The Quilldriver, to learn more about what pays her bills.
Donna finally married at the ripe old age of 37, so it’s fair to say she knows a thing or two about being single. She lives in rural Arkansas (which is where she met her alter ego Reba Ray) with her husband John and has two wonderful children on earth and two in heaven.

Shortly after being named Queen, Donna Lee Schillinger does the secret embrace of the "bla, bla, bla" sisterhood with her mentor and grandmother, Evelyn Anderson.
Kimberly Miller, recently sighted at a luau for audiophille cat owners of Northwest Arkansas.
Julie Ann can be seen from space in Roswell, N.M., where she frequently stands on the water tower at night holding a neon sign that says, "Ooo! Pick me! Pick me!"
Tamara Jane is a diva in only one sense - fashion sense. Otherwise, she's pretty down-to-earth.
Deb Collins, aka Dear Gabby, has a large collection of shoes with no match. Bad doggie.
